Enchanting, Educational and Magic In a time when hotels can be run of the mill, the Oberoi Agra Amar Villas transports you into a world where luxury meets history. A personal butler meets you at your car, and walks you past a fountain garden feature to the hotel's grand front entrance. There, no less than six members of staff greets you with hot towels and warm smiles. Gentle chimes, and wafts of incense ensure all your senses are piqued. A welcome drink, a marigold welcome garland, and an opportunity to look out from a balcony and see what you've come for - the iconic Taj Mahal - just 600 meters away. Below and the foreground - a swimming pool complete with chaise lounges, colorful, but stylish umbrellas and cabanas. You wonder if you've somehow stumbled on to a movie set. To say this hotel will blow you away, is an understatement. A Room with a View to say the least. Each room at the Oberoi Agra is a testament to the Mughal era's opulent architecture and design. The large windows frame the majestic Taj Mahal, offering a private viewing of this wonder of the world at any time of day. As the sun rises, the marble monument reflects a soft pink hue, and by moonlight, it glows an ethereal white. The rooms are not just about the view; they are a cocoon of comfort with traditional fabrics, hand-crafted ornaments, and all modern amenities ensuring a stay that is both luxurious and relaxing. We happened to be staying there over a birthday, and our room was decked out with with holiday wishes, and sweets. The dining experience at the Oberoi Agra is a journey through flavors. Bellevue, the in-house restaurant, serves a blend of international dishes and local favorites, while Esphahan specializes in traditional Indian specialties. Dining with the silhouette of the Taj Mahal in the backdrop is not just a meal; it's a moment to cherish. The staff are excited to share with you the stories and flavors only to be found in Agra and this region of India. As we look puzzled at one of the offerings, a chef came over to explain. Not just about the ingredients but a personal story, of how this is one of her favorite dishes, which her mother always made for her. The hotel's version was very close to what her mother's recipe, and this was her comfort food. This was our second Oberoi experience, and we can honestly say, the service is unapparelled. What truly sets the Oberoi Agra Armar Villas apart is its service. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure every guest's stay is memorable. Whether it's the personalized touch in the rooms, the attentive service at the restaurants, or the helpful concierge, the Oberoi Agra's commitment to excellence is evident in every interaction. At checkout, we were given two marble elephants to remember our stay - decoratively painted to match the marble and design of the Taj. As we departed, we didn't want to go. We wanted the stay and the experience to last forever. Alas, all things must end for a new experience to begin. Our experience was perfectly summed up by six staff members on the drive as we departed - holding signs which read "Come back soon, we will miss you." In our hearts, we hope to visit again.

This is THE best hotel we’ve stayed at - without question! A bold statement- Views of the Taj Mahal from our room for staters , followed by a main course of fantastic service from a dedicated young staff a side order of tasty food all at less than London pricing . We’re a middle aged couple enjoying the classic tour of the golden triangle and whilst we have been fortunate enough to travel quite widely this hotel (I’m ashamed to use the term) ticks ALL the boxes . I feel we are ruined for life and it will cost us dearly in the future! :))

As we drove into the hotel, we noted we were on the pedestrian walk to the Tak Mahal and from our room, we had an incredible view of the Taj. The grounds were gorgeous, the was room modern and luxurious. The staff were all welcoming, friendly, plentiful and professional. They arranged a golf cart to take us to the Taj entrance at opening time (6a). I wish all my stays could be like this. I wish we’d stayed longer. If possible, there is no doubt this is where one should stay at Agra.

This was our second visit to the Oberoi Amarvilas Agra. The hotel is amazing, and the location within sight of the Taj is unmatched. The staff is what truly makes this hotel exceptional. They shine in every respect. Highly recomended.
